What are MoMA's opening hours?
The Museum of Modern Art is open Sunday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
We recommend arriving early in the day to avoid the largest crowds. Saturday evenings tend to be less crowded as well, giving you extra time to explore the galleries at a relaxed pace.

How long does it take to visit MoMA?
Most visitors spend between 2 to 3 hours exploring MoMA. However, art enthusiasts who want to see every gallery and exhibition in detail could easily spend 4 to 5 hours or more inside the museum.
If you are short on time, we recommend prioritizing the fifth and fourth floors, which house the most celebrated works including paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Andy Warhol. The sculpture garden is also a must-see and provides a peaceful break between galleries.
Is photography allowed inside MoMA?
Yes, photography for personal use is generally allowed throughout MoMA's galleries. You may take photos and videos using handheld devices without flash. Tripods, selfie sticks, and other stabilizing equipment are not permitted inside the galleries.
Some temporary exhibitions may have additional restrictions on photography. Signs will be posted at the entrance of any exhibition where photography is not allowed. Commercial photography requires advance permission from the museum.
Can I visit MoMA for free?
MoMA does not currently offer regularly scheduled free admission hours for the general public. However, children aged 16 and under always receive free admission when accompanied by an adult.
